Values and Ethos

Educate and Celebrate

At Manor Green, it is our belief that all children have the right to be themselves and to be the best that they can be. To ensure that all children are supported in this, we are proud to have achieved the Pride in Inclusion Award through Educate and Celebrate.

This award shows that our practice embeds gender, gender identity and sexual orientation into the fabric of our school life and curriculum offer as well as being inclusive of the 9 protected characteristics:
Gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, race, religion, disability, marriage or civil partnership and pregnancy.

We want all children to see themselves and the diverse world we live in, throughout our curriculum and everything we do an Manor Green.

Supporting Others:

Here, at Manor Green Primary Academy, we are aware that keeping our children and staff hydrated will aid them to perform at their very best throughout the day.

As a result, we decided to invest in  watercoolers from AquAid.

Our unique relationship with AquAid has also given our Academy the opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves, because with each purchase an automatic donation is made to The Africa Trust.

These funds are used to build ‘Elephant Pumps’ - a modified version of an age-old Chinese rope pulley system. One such pump is currently being installed in Africa on our behalf and it will be a much-needed source of clean and fresh drinking water for many.

Our Academy’s name will be proudly displayed on our well and we look forward to adding a photo, a certificate and a letter of thanks from the villagers to our website in the near future.

To date AquAid have built over 10,000 such Elephant Pumps across parts of Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe and have donated in excess of £20 million to charity.

Supporting Diversity and Inclusion in Texts:

At Manor Green, one of our curriculum intents is to show diversity and culture. We want to inspire an ambition for our children and staff to deepen their curiosity about, understanding of, and respect for, the world around them. Here are a couple of links to books which celebrate differences and identity:
