Special educational Needs and Disabilites

As a school we are mindful of and comply with the LA Expectations of Schools, the SEN Code of Conduct 2014 and Section 69 of the Children and Families Act 2014 which outline the key ways pupils should be supported in class, along with expected equality duties shown in the school policies.
The documents below show the range of targeted support we give identified pupils to address their specific needs. Different interventions and approaches are used to address specific areas and we would look carefully at your child’s individual needs when deciding how best to support them in class and which interventions may be required.  The Legal Definition of Special Educational Needs (Section 20(1) is “A child or young person has special educational needs if he or she as a learning difficulty or a disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her”. A child is identified as needing special educational provision if the provision is in addition too or different from that made generally for others of the same age.
The documents attached will be updated and as and when further information is provided the appropriate amendments will be made to comply with any changes.
